This beautiful blue bird is a Steller’s jay (Cyanocitta stelleri), native to western North America and the mountains of Central America. This one was observed in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, sporting markings unique to the Pacific Northwest’s subspecies of Steller’s jay.
